What is Ultrasonography examination?

     Ultrasound is a diagnostic method, which allows to evaluate the shape, size and position of the organ or anatomical space and the surface and the interior of the organs.  Patient ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive, painless and does not require special preparation.  This examination allows to, e.g., assess the nature of the changes:

  • inflammatory
  • atrophic,
  • degenerative
  • cancerous ( possibility to evaluate the benign or malicious process)
  • trauma.

How to prepare for a colonoscopy test?

     Before abdominal ultrasound:

  • do not consume food for at least 6 hours
  • on the examination you should drink boiled water only,
  • the day before do not eat a heavy food,
  • 2 days before the test, it is recommended that use of an anti-flatulent (e.g. ESPUMISAN)
  • also recommended is the earlier purge of the bowel.

     Before gynecological ultrasound, prostate or urinary tract:

  • the examination should proceed with a full bladder,
  • 2 hours prior to, refrain from urinating,
  • If one hour before the examination no pressure is felt in the bladder, you should drink at least 0.5 liters of water.

  • arthritis - now widely recommended examination by orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, in case of injuries, pain swelling, limited mobility, inflammation, and for the evaluation of bone healing.  The scope of the examination includes- examination of the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, ankle, hip foot, wrist and hand,
  • changes superficial, subcutaneous and muscle - lumps, swelling, thyroid and neck - for the assessment of lymph nodes, flows
  • in the vessels and nodules,
  • abdominal cavity with the liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys (stones, congestion, inflammation, tumors, kidney moving), large vessels - Aorta (aneurysm, atherosclerosis),
  • blood vessels and vascular flow,
  • gynecological - obstetric

NOTE! NOTE! In our labs, there are also programs to examine the so-called ECHOCARDIOGRAM.

Using ultrasound fine needle we perform aspiration biopsy (BAC) - a histopathological examination of lesions detected in clinical ultrasound, CT, MR, and others.
